PATASKALA, OH, (April 30, 2024) - A 50-year-old man was severely injured Tuesday afternoon in a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident in Pataskala.

Pedestrian AccidentAaron Orr was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon when he was struck by a vehicle on Richwood Drive in Pataskala.

According to reports, Aaron Orr, of Pataskala, was on foot crossing Richwood Drive when he was struck by a vehicle that failed to yield at a stop sign near Emswiler Way.

PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

Vulnerable road users like pedestrians face danger every day. While all of us are advised to be careful, the burden of responsibility falls on people driving or riding in vehicles.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), an estimated 104,000 pedestrians were injured in crashes and transported to local emergency rooms in 2020. These crashes are often caused by factors such as distracted driving, speeding, and failing to yield to a pedestrian.

“Having the proper resources is extremely important in order to investigate a pedestrian accident case and prove negligence,” said Candice Bond, an experienced pedestrian accident attorney and a Managing Partner with Bond Legal.

Bond stressed: “In most instances, pedestrians possess the right of way when crossing an intersection or a street regardless of if they are in a marked crosswalk. It is always a driver’s duty to yield to any pedestrian.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Aaron Orr may have the right to pursue a personal injury suit pending an investigation.

Stefano Formica, of Counsel at Bond Legal, said, “Injured victims involved in a collision often seek a personal injury claim to cover the cost of medical bills, future medical care, loss of income, emotional trauma, and pain and suffering.”

“Insurance companies can be notoriously unconcerned with mounting expenses that an injured party may accrue. An attorney can help. We protect the victims of these tragedies daily, forcing the insurance companies to pay for their mistakes,” Formica added.
