A 68-year-old woman was killed when she was struck by a southbound Amtrak train at the Rhinecliff Train Station in Rhinebeck, New York, on Saturday morning, according to the State Police.
The pedestrian stepped onto the tracks at the north end of the station just before 7:45 a.m. Witnesses reported hearing an unusually long blast from the train's horn moments before the impact.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
