Anthony Richard Ryan, 43, was killed in a collision with a pickup truck on St. Bridget Road near 48th Street Southeast in Rochester on Monday, according to the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office.
First responders attempted life-saving measures at the scene behind the local Lowe's store, but the rider was pronounced dead before he could be transported to a hospital. The driver of the truck, identified only as a local man, was not injured in the 5 p.m. crash.
The deadly wreck adds to a growing statewide crisis, as the Minnesota Department of Public Safety reports that fatal motorcycle accidents have reached their highest level in over 10 years.
Investigators have not released details on what caused the two vehicles to collide or whether weather conditions played a role.
No charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
