Artanian Shaw Killed in Tacoma Pedestrian Accident
The 28-year-old man was struck by a vehicle on South Tacoma Way
Artanian Shaw, 28, of Tacoma, was killed in a pedestrian crash on South Tacoma Way on June 15, according to the Tacoma Police Department.
Detectives are examining the scene to determine why the vehicle struck the man. The driver remained at the crash site and cooperated with officers. No arrests were made.
The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the cause of death as multiple blunt-force injuries. Paramedics pronounced the victim dead before he could be transported to a hospital.
The collision occurred around 5:28 p.m. in the 400 block of the road. Traffic was diverted while investigators cleared the area.
While the Tacoma Police Department continues its investigation, authorities will review all potential factors, including whether weather-related conditions reduced visibility or traction.
