Brent Reynolds Arrested in Saline County Car Accident

A driver was killed and a pedestrian was seriously injured in a high-speed car accident in Saline County, Missouri, on April 28, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
A vehicle driven by 42-year-old Brent Yvain Reynolds Jr. rear-ended another car at 110 mph in a 25 mph zone. The impact forced the second vehicle into a person walking nearby, throwing them approximately 100 feet.
The driver of the struck vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Paramedics airlifted the pedestrian to a local hospital for treatment of severe injuries.
Troopers arrested Reynolds, of Marshall, and booked him into the Saline County Jail without bond. Prosecutors charged him with first-degree involuntary manslaughter, two counts of armed criminal action, and second-degree assault.
Court documents indicate Reynolds did not brake in the five seconds before the collision. He also faces citations for operating a vehicle without maintaining financial responsibility and failing to stop at a stop sign.
The crash remains under investigation.
