Brooklyn Gilfillan Killed in Clover Car Accident
Six passengers, including five juveniles, were hospitalized following the head-on collision
Brooklyn Gilfillan, 36, was killed in a head-on crash on North Paraham Road between Highway 55 and Highway 557 in Clover on Aug. 1, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Paramedics rushed six passengers from the victim's vehicle, including five juveniles, to a local hospital for treatment. The highway was shut down for several hours as emergency crews cleared the wreckage and investigators processed the scene.
The crash occurred shortly before 3 p.m. when a southbound 2006 Ford Mustang lost control and crossed the center line. The Mustang struck Gilfillan's northbound 2019 Kia Sorento head-on, troopers said.
The 18-year-old driver of the Mustang also died at the scene.
The road reopened around 8 p.m. The crash remains under investigation.

Six passengers from the Kia, including five juveniles, were hospitalized following the collision. Their current conditions have not been released. When multiple passengers are injured in a single event, investigators work to document the specific impact forces and safety restraint usage for each passenger.

The Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances that caused the southbound driver to lose control. Authorities will likely review tire marks, vehicle damage profiles, and any available event data recorder information to piece together the final seconds before the impact.
