How common are fatal pedestrian accidents in Texas?

Texas recorded approximately 770 pedestrian death in 2024, representing nearly one-fifth of all traffic deaths in the state. In pedestrian accidents such as this, investigators often examine lighting, visibility, and right-of-way to determine how the collision occurred.

National Legal Analyst Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal. "Road conditions, visibility, and lighting are all possible contributing factors considered and examined. An accident reconstruction team is sometimes needed to help piece together what happened. All of these resources are necessary for helping clients receive monetary compensation for damages or a loss following a collision."

What do investigators look for in early morning collisions?

National Legal Analyst Stefano Formica, Of Counsel at Bond Legal, noted that "We understand just what families are forced to go through, and having their rights protected is vital. A wrongful death lawyer will stay updated on the official investigation and help protect their legal rights and best interests."

Because this collision occurred before 6 a.m., authorities will likely review street lighting and driver visibility along MacArthur Drive. Statewide data indicates that more than 75% of pedestrian death happen in dark conditions, prompting investigators to carefully document the environment at the time of the accident.
