Victims like Gomez are often killed in bicycle accidents that leave families reeling with grief and confusion. The sudden loss of a loved one, especially a young person with a future ahead, brings immense emotional pain and financial strain. It's important for families to understand their rights and the legal avenues available to them in such tragic circumstances.
Authorities continue to investigate the hit-and-run collision that claimed Gomez's life. Investigators will examine all available evidence, including surveillance footage from the 6300 block of South Kedzie Avenue, witness statements, and vehicle debris, to identify the driver who fled the scene. Finding the at-fault driver is important for justice and for any potential civil claims.
Bicycle accidents, particularly those involving hit-and-run drivers, often present unique challenges.
