Darrenn Bradshaw Injured in Sherrills Ford Accident
An RV, a commercial motor vehicle, and a passenger car struck a low-hanging cable line, causing a utility pole to fall
Darrenn Reeves Bradshaw, 35, of Terrell, was killed in a pedestrian crash on NC 150 in Sherrills Ford on Monday when a utility pole struck him, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Troopers and paramedics responded to the westbound lanes at approximately 1:50 p.m. Investigators determined an RV, a commercial motor vehicle and a passenger car all hit a low-hanging cable line spanning the road.
The impact snapped the attached wooden structure, which fell and struck the man from behind. Bradshaw suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
According to data from the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the state recorded 250 fatal pedestrian crashes resulting in 252 deaths in 2023.
Authorities confirmed no charges will be filed against the drivers involved. The crash remains under investigation.
