David R. Klein Killed in Chelan Falls Crash on U.S. 97

David R. Klein, 22, of Eastsound, was killed in a three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 97 near the Beebe Bridge in Chelan Falls, Washington, on Friday, according to the State Patrol.
A southbound 2013 GMC Sierra pickup truck crossed the center line into the northbound lane just before 9:15 p.m. and struck a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Klein, as well as a 2001 Honda Civic. The pickup and the Honda stopped on the southbound shoulder and lane, while the Jeep overturned on the northbound shoulder of the highway.
A 20-year-old passenger in the Jeep and the 47-year-old driver of the pickup were also killed in the collision. Two 53-year-old men in the Honda were injured and transported to Lake Chelan Hospital for treatment. Authorities noted all individuals were wearing seatbelts.
