Teutonia Avenue has claimed its third life in less than two weeks, highlighting a deadly pattern on the Milwaukee corridor.
Edwin Rodrigues, 32, was killed in a motorcycle crash near West Finn Place on Wednesday night, according to Milwaukee police.
The northbound motorcycle was struck by an SUV navigating the intersection. Paramedics transported the rider to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The fatal collision occurred just one block from where two pedestrians were struck and killed on July 12 near North 20th Street. Wisconsin Department of Transportation data shows motorcyclist death statewide reached 103 last year, with urban corridors frequently seeing higher concentrations of severe impacts.
Residents have repeatedly raised concerns about excessive speeds along the stretch from Burleigh Street to Capitol Drive. The Milwaukee Department of Public Works currently has no traffic-calming projects planned for this specific section of the road.
The crash remains under investigation. No charges have been announced against the driver of the SUV.
