Glenn Kennedy Killed in Madison Township Motorcycle Accident
The 61-year-old Lisbon resident died after a vehicle turned into his path on State Route 45
Glenn R. Kennedy, 61, of Lisbon, was killed in a motorcycle crash on State Route 45 near Osbourne Road in Madison Township on Sunday, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at 12:53 p.m. A Nissan Altima attempted a left turn onto Osbourne Road and struck the southbound motorcycle driven by Kennedy, investigators reported. Kennedy died instantly. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Columbiana County Coroner’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation. Troopers have not announced any charges against the driver of the Nissan.
Multiple agencies responded. Wellsville, Highlandtown, and West Point fire departments assisted at the scene alongside Lifeteam EMS and the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office.
Left-turn collisions remain a leading cause of rider death. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, motorcyclists are almost 27 times more likely than passenger car passengers to die per vehicle miles traveled.
