Green Township 3-Vehicle Crash Leaves Two Drivers Seriously Injured

Three-vehicle collision on Kingston Adelphi Road sends two drivers to regional hospitals
A 45-year-old Kingston man and a 48-year-old woman were injured in a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of Kingston Adelphi Road and Jadwin Road in Green Township on Friday, April 3, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
A southeast-bound 2020 Chevrolet Colorado struck the rear of a 2023 Kia Seltos that was turning right onto Jadwin Road. Investigators said the impact pushed the Kia into a 1988 Chevrolet pickup truck attempting to turn left onto Kingston Adelphi Road.
Paramedics treated the driver of the Colorado at the scene before transporting him to Grant Medical Center in Columbus with suspected serious injuries. The driver of the Kia was taken to Adena Regional Medical Center with suspected serious injuries, while the 74-year-old pickup driver received treatment at the scene for minor injuries.
Troopers cited the 45-year-old for failing to maintain an assured clear distance ahead and suspect distraction played a role in the crash.
The road remained closed for approximately 75 minutes while crews cleared the disabled vehicles, which were towed from the scene.
The sudden force of a multi-vehicle collision leaves those involved facing extensive medical evaluations and a long road to recovery. While the Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the exact circumstances of the crash, legal professionals emphasize the importance of preserving evidence from the scene.
"In car accidents at intersections, collisions often occur when drivers miscalculate the speed of surrounding traffic or fail to maintain an assured clear distance, leading to severe multi-vehicle impacts," said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal.
According to the Ohio Department of Public Safety, the state recorded 109,872 motor vehicle crashes and 46,780 injuries in 2023.
Insurance adjusters frequently contact injured parties within days of a collision, often before the full extent of medical costs and long-term physical effects are fully understood.
"The confusion after a car accident is normal, but it's why we look closely at the sequence of events," said Stefano Formica, Of Bond Legal"Drivers who fail to maintain proper distance often create a chain reaction that isn't safe for anyone entering the intersection."
Establishing the timeline of a multi-vehicle crash requires a thorough review of police reports, witness statements, and physical evidence left on the road.
