What factors are investigators examining on Highway 52?
Victims of severe collisions often face significant physical and emotional challenges. When a motorcycle collides with a larger vehicle, the disparity in size can lead to significant injuries, even when protective gear is used.
"Blind spots, inexperienced drivers, and distracted motorists often cause these types of collisions," said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal. "An accident reconstruction team and even motorcycle manufacturing experts are oftentimes needed as well to help ultimately piece together what happened."
Hundreds of motorcyclists are injured annually in Minnesota, with the Department of Public Safety reporting 69 motorcycle deaths statewide in 2023.
How do collision investigations unfold?
Major crash investigations require a careful level of scrutiny. Investigators typically examine scene evidence and other critical details to determine if negligence contributed to the crash.
"Victims should seek legal guidance when pursuing a personal injury case, which allows them to handle insurance communications and protect a victim's rights," said Stefano Formica, of Bond Legal"Insurance companies often try to pressure victims to settle for a quick payout for far less than the case is worth. However, an attorney will vigorously advocate for their client to ensure that they are treated with respect and compensated fairly."
Individuals involved in accidents may have legal options. Consulting a personal injury attorney can help clarify rights and potential claims against liable parties.
Minnesota personal injury framework
