Joseph Haro, 37, of San Antonio, was killed in a hit-and-run crash near Medina Base Road and Loop 410 in San Antonio, Texas, on April 24, according to police.
A passing drivers discovered the man lying unconscious in the road at approximately 1 a.m. and immediately stopped to call 911 for emergency assistance. Paramedics rushed the victim, identified as Haro, to a local hospital with critical injuries, where he later died.
Investigators are searching for the driver who fled the scene before authorities arrived. No vehicle description has been released.
Relatives established a fundraiser to assist with funeral expenses for the father of three, who had been serving as a full-time caregiver for his mother.
