National Legal Analyst Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal, noted that "I've seen families blindsided by how a simple walk to the park can end in such a terrible tragedy. If a car hits someone at forty miles per hour, there's an eighty-five percent chance they won't survive the impact."

Pedestrian accident victims in New Mexico may be eligible to pursue legal claims to address medical expenses, long-term rehabilitation costs, and other damages. Under state law, drivers are required to exercise due care to avoid colliding with any pedestrian. When a driver's negligence—such as a failure to yield or distracted driving—contributes to an injury, the victim or their family may seek compensation through a personal injury civil action. Consulting with an experienced legal advocate can help clarify rights and identify all potentially liable parties and available insurance coverages.
