Norma Martinez Lopez, 51, of Lonoke, was killed in a car accident on westbound Interstate 630 near the 6A Mile Marker in Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, on Monday, March 30, 2026, according to the Arkansas State Police.
The collision occurred when a 2009 Nissan attempted to merge, lost control, and struck a 2017 Mitsubishi. The latter then crossed all lanes of traffic and collided with the concrete barrier.
Martinez Lopez, a passenger in the Mitsubishi, was pronounced dead at the scene. Arnoldo Chochom Vargas, 56, of Lonoke, who was driving the vehicle, suffered injuries and was taken to UAMS for treatment.
The ASP, with Trooper Austin K. Green investigating, reported clear weather and dry road conditions at the time of the crash. Next of kin have been notified.
