Richard Harrell Killed in Midland Motorcycle Accident
The collision occurred at the intersection of Midkiff Road and Park Lane
Richard Harrell, 27, was killed in a motorcycle crash on Midkiff Road near Park Lane in Midland, Texas, on Sept. 2, according to the Midland Police Department.
A northbound Honda CBR motorcycle struck the rear of a Ford F-250 pickup truck at approximately 11:38 p.m. Investigators suspect speed played a role in the collision. Harrell, a passenger on the motorcycle, was rushed to Midland Memorial Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The 39-year-old driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the state recorded 599 motorcyclist fatalities in 2023.
