Rigoberto Bencomo Killed in Phoenix Motorcycle Accident
A left-turn collision claims the life of 39-year-old Phoenix resident Rigoberto Bencomo at 31st Avenue and Northern Avenue.
Rigoberto Bencomo, 39, of Phoenix, died Saturday after an SUV was involved in a collision with his motorcycle at 31st Avenue and Northern Avenue, Phoenix police said.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. when the SUV turned left into the path of the victim’s motorcycle.
Bencomo was transported to a hospital, where he later died.
Police said the SUV driver failed to yield the right of way to the motorcyclist.
The Vehicular Crimes Unit is investigating the crash. Detectives are reviewing evidence and witness statements.
Police evaluated the SUV driver for impairment at the scene. Authorities said no signs of intoxication were present.
