What caused the multi-vehicle pileup on Interstate 26?

While the cause and liability of a crash are being investigated, it is important that a competent attorney handles investigations into cases such as this to ensure the rights of the victim's family are protected. National Legal Analyst Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal, noted that "In multi-vehicle car accidents, independent crash reconstructionists are essential to untangle the sequence of impacts and identify which drivers failed to maintain a safe following distance or react appropriately to changing road conditions."

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, multi-vehicle crashes account for much of highway death, often triggered by speeding or distracted driving in high-traffic corridors.

What are the legal options for Hunter's family?

Insurance adjusters often contact grieving families within days of a crash, before the full extent of liability across multiple drivers is established. National Legal Analyst Stefano Formica, Of Bond Legal, noted that "When analyzing fatal car accidents, families must work through complex insurance frameworks where multiple at-fault parties may share liability, making early preservation of evidence critical to a successful civil claim."

Individuals involved in fatal car accidents may have legal options. Consulting a personal injury attorney can help clarify rights and potential claims.

South Carolina wrongful death statute

Families pursuing these claims may be entitled to seek compensation for medical expenses incurred prior to death, funeral costs, and the loss of financial and emotional support. South Carolina enforces a three-year statute of limitations for wrongful death claims, making it vital to initiate investigations promptly before physical evidence from the crash scene is lost.
