The 68-year-old rider died after a Honda Accord entered his lane of travel on Union Cross Road
Douglas Webb Cooper, 68, of Kernersville, was killed in a motorcycle crash on Union Cross Road near Solomon Drive in Kernersville, North Carolina, on Monday, according to police.
The northbound 2012 Can-Am Spyder driven by Cooper was struck when a 2024 Honda Accord entered its lane of travel, police said. The impact ejected the rider from the three-wheeled vehicle onto the road. Cooper died at the scene. Forsyth County EMS pronounced him dead before he could be transported to a hospital.
Master Police Officer S. Slyman is leading the ongoing investigation. Authorities have not announced any charges against the driver of the Accord.
The crash marks the first traffic-related death in the Town of Kernersville in 2026.
According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the state averages more than 190 fatal motorcycle crashes annually.
