Glaysia Sivil Killed in Midland Pedestrian Accident

Glaysia Sivil, 27, was killed in a pedestrian crash in the 3100 block of Caldera Street on Monday, according to the Midland Police Department.
An eastbound pickup truck made a sudden left turn and struck Sivil as she stood nearby. Paramedics transported Sivil to Midland Memorial Emergency Department, where she later died from her injuries. The driver of the pickup truck has not been identified, and authorities have not released their condition.
No charges have been announced.
The fatal collision remains under active investigation by local detectives.
According to the Texas Department of Transportation, 772 pedestrians died in traffic crashes statewide in 2024, highlighting the ongoing risks to people on foot.
