The Oceanside resident died at the hospital following a morning collision at Glasgow Drive
Jerry Richards, 86, of Oceanside, was killed in an e-bike versus vehicle crash on Carlsbad Village Drive at Glasgow Drive in Carlsbad, California, on Friday, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the morning collision. No charges have been announced.
Paramedics arrived at the intersection shortly before 8 a.m. They rushed Richards to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. He was pronounced dead early Friday evening.
The intersection remained closed for several hours as crews cleared the wreckage.
Local residents have expressed ongoing concerns about traffic safety in the area following the fatal wreck.
