Kyla Vervynck Killed in Fairview Motorcycle Accident
The 47-year-old passenger died following a two-vehicle collision on Randolph Road
Kyla Vervynck, 47, of Fairview, was killed in a motorcycle crash on Illinois Route 97 near Randolph Road in Fairview, Illinois, on Sept. 11, according to the Fulton County Coroner's Office.
The two-vehicle collision involved a motorcycle and a passenger car. Emergency services responded to the intersection at approximately 6:15 p.m., where the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Vervynck was riding as a passenger on the motorcycle when the crash occurred. An autopsy was performed in Peoria County, and toxicology results are pending under state statute.
The State Police and the Fulton County Sheriff's Office are investigating the cause of the wreck.
The condition of the other people involved was not immediately released.
According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, the state recorded 168 motorcyclist fatalities (operators and passengers) in 2023.
