Leonard Cantrell Killed in Dawsonville Motorcycle Accident
The collision occurred on Lee Castleberry Road at Foxgrove Drive
Leonard Cantrell, 30, of Dawsonville, was killed in a motorcycle crash on Lee Castleberry Road near Foxgrove Drive in Dawson County on Saturday, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
First responders pronounced the rider dead at the scene after a westbound Kawasaki EX500 struck the passenger side of a white Honda Civic driven by Cantrell. Investigators determined the Honda was turning left from the eastbound lanes into a residential drive when the collision occurred.
The crash remains under investigation. Authorities have not announced any criminal charges or citations against the driver of the Honda.
According to the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, the state recorded 192 motorcycle fatalities in 2020, up from 170 in 2019, marking the highest toll in more than a decade.
