Police search for white sedan after deadly pedestrian collision on Victory Boulevard
Luz America Ocampo Huerta, 48, was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Victory Boulevard near Troost Avenue in North Hollywood, California, on June 11, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
A westbound white sedan struck the woman at approximately 10:30 p.m. just east of Lankershim Boulevard. The driver fled the scene without stopping to render aid or identify themselves to authorities.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics treated Huerta at the collision site. She was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed she died from blunt traumatic injuries. Investigators have not determined if she was in a marked crosswalk at the time of the crash.
Detectives from the LAPD's Valley Traffic Division are searching for the white sedan and its driver. Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
