The sudden loss of a loved one in a severe intersection collision leaves families searching for answers about liability. While the Mississippi Highway Patrol continues its investigation into the Highway 12 crash, independent accident reconstruction is often necessary to determine exactly how the vehicles collided. Investigators will look at the circumstances that led to the crash near Smith Road. Authorities typically analyze physical evidence at the scene, including debris fields and accident damage, to reconstruct the moments before impact.

Rural highway intersections frequently present visibility and speed challenges. The area between Longview and Sturgis is currently under review to understand the sequence of events that led to Tuesday's fatal outcome.
