Meghan Moran Killed in Sauk Rapids Motorcycle Accident
The collision occurred at the intersection of Mayhew Lake Road and 10th Street Northeast
Meghan Moran, 27, of Sauk Rapids, was killed in a motorcycle crash at Mayhew Lake Road and 10th Street Northeast in Sauk Rapids Township on Saturday, according to the Benton County Sheriff's Office.
The southbound motorcycle was struck on its left side by a westbound van that pulled into the intersection after stopping at a stop sign. The driver of the van told investigators he did not see the approaching motorcycle before proceeding.
First responders treated the rider for life-threatening injuries at the scene. She was rushed to St. Cloud Hospital, where she later died.
The driver of the van, a 60-year-old St. Cloud man, was not injured.
Authorities noted no signs of impairment at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
