Ramiro Gonzalez Jr., 39, of Mecca, was killed in a pedestrian crash on 70th Avenue near Cleveland Street in Mecca, California, on Sept. 10, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision remains under investigation by the CHP Indio office. Officers have not announced any citations or charges against the driver involved. A westbound white Honda Accord struck the victim at approximately 7:25 p.m. The car was driving at an unspecified speed when the impact occurred. Paramedics pronounced Gonzalez dead at the scene.
