Rebecca Dillingham Injured in Walnut Ridge Car Accident

Passenger hospitalized after multi-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 63
Rebecca Dillingham, 64, of Ravenden Springs, was injured in a multi-vehicle car accident Tuesday afternoon in Lawrence County, according to Arkansas State Police. The crash occurred at 5:41 p.m. at the corner of U.S. Highway 63 and State Highway 91 in Walnut Ridge. A northbound pickup truck, driven by Ronald Simms, 58, of Thayer, Missouri, crossed the center line and struck a southbound van. Simms' truck then crossed back over the center line and struck a northbound SUV. Dillingham, a passenger in the van, suffered injuries and was hospitalized. The driver of the van, Sheila Quarterman, 58, of Pocahontas, died from her injuries. A minor passenger in the van was also hospitalized. The driver of the SUV, Danny Whitmire, 63, of Walnut Ridge, and his two passengers, Shelly Whitmire, 60, of Walnut Ridge, and a minor, were also hospitalized. Simms was also taken to the hospital. Police said it was raining and the road conditions were wet at the time of the crash. the crash remains under investigation.
