As off-highway vehicle death continue to climb across Wisconsin, a weekend crash has claimed a second life. Timothy Kamphuis, 46, died Thursday, April 23, from injuries suffered in a single-UTV accident on Princeton Road near Honeysuckle Lane in the Town of Brooklyn on Saturday, April 18, according to the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office.​​​​‍‌​‌​‌‍​‌‍‍‍​‌‌‌​‍‍​​​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‍‌‍​‍‌‌​​​​​‌​‌‌‍‍‍​​​​​‍‌​‌​‌‍​‌‍‍‍​‌‌‌​‍‍​​​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‍‌‍​‍‌‌​​​​​‌​‌‌‍‍‍​

Emergency personnel responded to the rural road just after 5 p.m. to find the utility terrain vehicle wrecked with four people involved. First responders pronounced a 40-year-old woman dead at the scene, while paramedics rushed Kamphuis to a hospital for treatment of critical injuries.

Investigators determined the UTV crashed and ejected at least one passengers.

the crash adds to a growing toll in the state, where Department of Natural Resources data shows UTVs account for the vast majority of recent off-road death, with 25 deaths recorded by late last year.

The Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the Wisconsin DNR, and the Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the crash.
