Walter Scott III, 40, of Convent, was killed in a single-vehicle crash on State Route 74 on Saturday, according to the St. Gabriel Police Department.
St. Gabriel police is withholding the driver's identity as the active investigation continues. No charges have been announced.
The vehicle crashed and overturned along the highway at approximately 10:30 p.m.
Scott, who was a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
