Editorial Independence

Our reporting and our advertising are kept separate. Advertisers have no say in what we cover, no advance look at articles, and no way to change or remove a report. No story is written, edited, held back, or promoted because of an advertising relationship.

Legal analysts who provide commentary do not speak to the specific facts, people, or outcome of any individual accident. They address a category of incident in general terms, so their commentary is never advice about a particular case and never a pitch to a reader.

Advertising and Legal Commentary

Accident News carries paid attorney advertising. That advertising is our main source of funding, and we want readers to know where it appears.

What counts as advertising: attorney and law firm ad units with contact details, headshots, and calls to action, and the case evaluation forms that send your information to a specific attorney or firm.

What does not: our reporting, data, and analysis, along with the legal commentary attributed to named attorneys. That commentary is editorial, not paid promotion. It gives general educational context about a type of incident, such as how liability, filing deadlines, or insurance usually work. It is not legal advice, and reading it does not create an attorney-client relationship. An analyst may or may not be licensed in the state where an accident happened, and we note their licensing where it matters.

We review attorney advertisements before they run. We do not accept ads that guarantee an outcome, that call a lawyer a specialist without the certification to back it, or that blur the line between an ad and our reporting.

How We're Funded

Accident News is funded by attorney advertising. When you submit a case evaluation form, your information goes to the attorney or firm connected to that form. No advertiser can pay for favorable coverage, a better position in an article, or any change to a report. What we cover is decided by newsworthiness, not by who advertises.

Our team is responsible for the accuracy, fairness, and independence of everything we publish. If you believe something on the site crosses the lines described here, you can flag it through our correction and removal form, and we will review it against the reporting we cited.
