1 Killed, 2 Injured in Bell County Car Accident
The crash closed a stretch of SH 53 from Little Flock to Limewood Lane on Monday night.
One person was killed and two were injured in a car crash on SH 53 in Bell County on November 2, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
What Happened on SH 53 Monday Night
Texas DPS said a Ford Fusion crossed onto the opposite side of the road and hit a Dodge Ram coming the other way. The Ford's driver died at the scene, the agency said. The Dodge's driver and a passenger were taken to a local hospital. The crash closed SH 53 from Little Flock to Limewood Lane.
Where the Texas DPS Investigation Stands
Texas DPS said the families have been notified. The agency said the investigation is ongoing. No charges have been announced, and the agency has not released the names of those involved.
Investigators write down the weather, lighting and road surface after every serious crash. Recording those details is routine and does not point to any single cause.
From an earlier interview. General commentary, not about this crash, and not legal advice.Affected by an accident like this?
Here is what people in Texas usually need, in the order it comes up.
Emergency care. Emergency rooms must check and stabilize you, even if you can't pay. The bill comes later.
Your vehicle. Tow yards usually charge for every day a towed vehicle sits there.
Crash report. The crash report is usually ready a few weeks after the crash, and you can still get it later.
Hospital bills. Most hospitals have a program that cuts bills for people with low income, and you can apply months after the first bill.
Insurance offer. You can turn down the insurer's first offer and ask for more.
