Adam Chapa Killed in Duval County Car Accident
Two passengers injured when pickup truck is rear-ended while waiting to turn onto County Road 338
Adam Chapa, 36, of San Diego, was killed in a rear-end collision on State Highway 44 near County Road 338 in Duval County on July 22, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
A westbound 2018 Chevrolet Silverado failed to control its speed and struck the back of a 2002 GMC 1500 that was stopped to make a left turn, investigators reported. Paramedics took all occupants to Christus Spohn Hospital in Alice.
The driver of the GMC died at 9:40 p.m., while his two male passengers, ages 36 and 27, suffered undisclosed injuries. The 50-year-old Freer woman driving the Silverado was also hospitalized.
No charges have been announced. Troopers continue to investigate the crash.
