What factors are investigators reviewing at Fountain Boulevard and Circle Drive?

While the cause and liability of a crash are being investigated, legal professionals note that intersection geometry often plays a critical role in collisions involving vulnerable road users. "When a community experiences a fatal accident, we have to look closely at the road's engineering. Sight distance and drainage grooves can be the difference between a driver seeing a hazard or losing control of their car," said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Colorado recorded 125 pedestrian deaths in 2023, reflecting an 88% increase over the past decade.

How do scooter accidents affect the Colorado Springs community?

Victims like Brewer are killed in motor vehicle accidents across the country, leaving families searching for answers. "It's scary how a simple trip to the store can end in a life-altering injury. Engineers use the forgiveness zone to give drivers more reaction time, but that doesn't help if the street is narrow," said Stefano Formica, Of Bond Legal

Under Colorado law, individuals injured or killed due to another party's negligence may be entitled to seek compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering.

Colorado wrongful death statute
