Christopher Bermudez Dies in Ridgecrest Motorcycle Accident
The 55-year-old died following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Pinto Street
Christopher Daniel Bermudez, 55, of Ridgecrest, was killed in a motorcycle crash on Highway 178 at Pinto Street in Ridgecrest, California, on Sunday, according to the Kern County Coroner's Office.
The collision occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. when the motorcycle Bermudez was operating and a second vehicle struck each other in the intersection. He died on scene. Paramedics were unable to revive the rider following the severe impact. Authorities have not released the identity of the other driver or specified if any criminal charges are pending.
The crash remains under investigation by local law enforcement.
According to the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS), the state recorded 583 motorcyclist fatalities in 2023, representing 14% of all traffic deaths statewide.
