A Canandaigua man was hospitalized after a pickup truck struck him while he walked on State Route 64 South in South Bristol, New York, on Monday, according to Ontario County sheriff's deputies.
Deputies said the truck, heading south, hit the man, 36, who was walking north. Emergency crews responded to the scene around 6 p.m.
The man suffered serious injuries in the pedestrian collision. A Mercy Flight helicopter airlifted him to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment, and he is expected to survive.
