A male pedestrian was killed in a train accident near the corner of Q and James streets in Bakersfield, Kern County, California, on Monday, April 20, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
Emergency medical personnel responded to the tracks just before 9 p.m. and pronounced the man dead at the scene. Union Pacific Railroad Police also arrived to secure the area and assumed control of the investigation.
Authorities have not released the victim's name or age pending notification of his family.
