Why did the vehicle drift onto the shoulder of Norfolk Road?
Andrew G. Finkelstein, managing partner at Jacoby & Meyers Law Offices and a national legal analyst for Accident News, said, "Pedestrians have the right to safe passage on public streets. When crashes occur, the lack of physical protection means injuries are often severe, underscoring how vulnerable people are when walking near vehicles in everyday traffic environments."
What are the legal options for the injured pedestrian?
"Accidents may occur suddenly, but their consequences often unfold over time, requiring ongoing medical care, emotional adjustment, and lifestyle changes," Finkelstein added.
Connecticut personal injury framework
Victims typically have two years from the date of the injury to file a lawsuit under the state's statute of limitations. Successful claims may yield compensation for emergency medical care, ongoing physical therapy, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
