Moises Alvarez Robles, 83, of Bakersfield, was killed in a bicycle accident on Chester Avenue in Bakersfield, Kern County, California, on Wednesday, April 15, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.​‍​‌​‍‌‍​​​‌​‍‍‌‌​​‌​‍​‍‌‍‌​‌‍‍​‌​​​‌​​​‌‌‍​‌‍‌​‌​

The afternoon collision occurred in the 300 block of the road. The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene following the impact.

Speed was not a factor. Investigators also ruled out impairment for the drivers.

Paramedics transported the bicyclist to Kern Medical for treatment of what initially appeared to be minor injuries. He died at the hospital two days later on April 17, the Kern County Coroner’s Office reported.

The department continues to investigate the collision. No charges have been announced.
