Motorcyclist Injured in Columbia Accident
The crash happened early Friday on Scott Boulevard near Gillespie Bridge Road in southwest Columbia.
Candice BondA man suffered critical injuries when his motorcycle crashed on Scott Boulevard near Gillespie Bridge Road in Columbia on Friday, according to Boone County Joint Communications.
What Happened on Scott Boulevard
Boone County Joint Communications said the crash happened shortly before 6:30 a.m. Ryan Schaeffer of the Columbia Fire Department said only one motorcycle was involved. Schaeffer said an ambulance carried the man away from the scene, and he described the man's injuries as "critical."
When Scott Boulevard Is Expected to Reopen
Both lanes of Scott Boulevard and Gillespie Bridge Road were closed after the crash. Schaeffer said drivers should plan on a delay of about two hours. The man's name has not been released, and no cause or charges have been announced.
