Victim Identified in Deadly Los Angeles Hit-and-Run
Onesimo Maldonado Flores, 88, was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident in the South Park East neighborhood of Los Angeles on Wednesday evening.
The fatal collision occurred at approximately 7:35 p.m. in a marked crosswalk on the north side of East 49th Street, near Avalon Boulevard.
The vehicle, described as a possibly black sedan, was driving north on Avalon when it struck Flores. The driver fled the scene without stopping after the crash.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital, where Flores was pronounced dead.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Traffic Division Detectives are investigating the crash. They urge anyone who witnessed the crash or has information regarding the suspect to contact Investigator D. Chung.
