What Happened on Kimberly Road

Officers with the Warner Robins Police Department went to Kimberly Road near Lakeshore Drive after calls about a vehicle striking a pedestrian. Police said a preliminary investigation found that the boy and the vehicle were traveling in the same direction when he was hit. Police said the driver kept going in the same direction after the collision.

His family said he was taken first to a Macon hospital, where he was sedated and put on a ventilator. According to his family, he was then transferred to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Arthur M. Blank Hospital, arriving around 10 a.m. Sunday. The family said his injuries include a bruised lung, facial fractures and bleeding in the frontal lobe of his brain, and that surgery was expected Sunday evening.

Help for people affected by a crash is below.

Where the Warner Robins Police Search Stands

The department's Traffic Unit is investigating. Police said they have limited information about the vehicle that left the scene. Aiden's family asked anyone who saw the crash, or who knows something about the vehicle or its driver, to contact the Warner Robins Police Department or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers.

Police often share a description of the vehicle they are looking for, such as its color or the damage it may have. Those details help people nearby recognize it.

Affected by an accident like this?

Here is what people in Georgia usually need, in the order it comes up.

  1. Emergency care. Emergency rooms must check and stabilize you, even if you can't pay. The bill comes later.

  2. Your belongings. A damaged bike, phone, or clothes can be part of what insurance pays for.

  3. Crash report. The crash report is usually ready a few weeks after the crash, and you can still get it later.

  4. Hospital bills. Most hospitals have a program that cuts bills for people with low income, and you can apply months after the first bill.

  5. Insurance offer. You can turn down the insurer's first offer and ask for more.
