1 Killed, 1 Injured in Yermo Car Accident
The crash happened on Yermo Road west of Minneola Road, and the California Highway Patrol has withheld the names of those involved.
A 65-year-old passenger from Riverside was killed in a car crash on Yermo Road in Yermo on November 2, according to the California Highway Patrol.
How the Yermo Road Rollover Unfolded
The crash happened at about 11:53 a.m. on Yermo Road, west of Minneola Road, in an unincorporated part of San Bernardino County. The California Highway Patrol said a 2008 Honda Pilot was traveling westbound with a 72-year-old Newberry Springs man driving and the Riverside man as his passenger. The agency said the SUV entered the eastbound lane, struck a guardrail, crossed the dirt shoulder, hit a raised dirt berm and overturned. The agency said both men were ejected. The passenger died at the scene, and the driver suffered moderate injuries and was flown by helicopter to a trauma center.
What the CHP Barstow Office Is Examining
The California Highway Patrol said the crash remains under investigation. Authorities are withholding the names of both men until identification is confirmed and next of kin are notified. The patrol's Barstow Area office asked anyone with information about the crash to contact the office.
Once a crash report is finished, the people involved and their families can usually request a copy from the agency that wrote it.
