Six Injured in Panorama City Pedestrian Accident on W Plummer St

The crash occurred in the 14600 block of West Plummer Street
Six people, including two pedestrians, were injured in a two-vehicle accident in the 14600 block of West Plummer Street in Panorama City on Friday, April 17, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The collision occurred just before 8 p.m. when a white car and a second vehicle crashed, sending at least one of the cars into the people walking nearby.
Paramedics took the pedestrians and a man from the white car to a local hospital in serious condition. Three people riding in the other vehicle suffered minor injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Police have not released the names of anyone involved.
Why did the vehicles collide on West Plummer Street?
The sudden trauma of a multi-injury crash leaves victims and their families facing a difficult recovery process. While investigators work to determine exactly how the two cars collided before striking the bystanders, legal practitioners who study pedestrian collisions note that intersection design and vehicle speeds often play a critical role.
National Legal Analyst Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal, noted that "It's natural to feel overwhelmed after a car hits you in a crosswalk. Engineers can use leading pedestrian intervals to give you a head start before cars get a green, which helps prevent these scary collisions."
How do investigators determine fault in a multi-vehicle pedestrian crash?
In complex crashes involving multiple vehicles and bystanders, authorities must piece together witness statements and physical evidence. According to the California Office of Traffic Safety, the state recorded 11,547 pedestrian accidents in 2024, highlighting the ongoing risks on busy urban corridors.
National Legal Analyst Stefano Formica, Of Bond Legal, noted that "Getting hit by a car while walking is a terrifying experience that changes your perspective on safety. Leading intervals that give walkers a head start at lights can reduce these dangerous crashes by thirteen percent."
As the victims recover from their injuries, understanding the sequence of events will be important for any future claims. Individuals involved in pedestrian accidents may have legal options to help cover the cost of their medical care.
California personal injury framework
California follows a pure comparative fault system. Injured parties may recover damages reduced by their percentage of fault. The statute of limitations is 2 years from the date of the crash.
Damages include economic losses (medical bills, lost income, rehabilitation) and non-economic losses (pain, suffering, emotional distress).
