Clovis, CaliforniaPublished 1 min read

A teenage boy was injured in a pedestrian crash at the intersection of Temperance and Bullard avenues in Clovis on September 29, according to police.

How the Crash at Temperance and Bullard Unfolded

The collision happened just after 4:30 p.m. The boy suffered major injuries and was taken to the hospital. The driver, also a teenage boy, remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Police said there is no suspicion of DUI.

What Makes Pedestrian Crashes at Intersections Dangerous

The boy was struck at a busy intersection where turning vehicles and competing paths cross. Intersections concentrate risk for people on foot, who have no protection against a moving vehicle. According to NHTSA, California saw 68,244 pedestrian injuries in 2023.

In a past interview with Accident News, Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal, who has represented those injured in pedestrian crashes, said, "Most pedestrian crashes happen where paths cross: a turning car at a green light, a driver rolling through a crosswalk, or a person stepping out from between parked vehicles into a lane the driver cannot fully see."

Where the Clovis Police Investigation Stands

What led up to the crash remains under investigation. No charges have been announced, and police have not released further details about the sequence of events.

Bond added, "Investigators look at the physical evidence on the road, the vehicle, and any nearby cameras to understand where the pedestrian was, what the driver could see, and how fast the vehicle was moving at the moment of impact."
