The crash happened on Liming Van Thompson Road near Yankeetown Road in Clark Township at about 6:02 p.m.
Three men were struck in a pedestrian crash on Liming Van Thompson Road in Brown County on Nov. 1, and one of them was killed, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
What Happened on Liming Van Thompson Road
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash happened near Yankeetown Road in Clark Township at about 6:02 p.m. Troopers said a 1999 GMC Sonoma traveling south struck a trailer attached to a disabled 2007 Nissan Pathfinder. Troopers said the Pathfinder was pushed forward into three men who were standing in the road working to repair it. The patrol identified the three pedestrians as Jeffrey D. Saylor, 70, of Hamersville, and Jordan C. Greenwell, 19, and Shane M. Hull, 19, both of Bethel.
Hull ended up pinned against a 2022 Ford F-150 parked in the road. EMS crews took him to Mount Orab Mercy Hospital, where he died. Saylor and Greenwell were seriously hurt and were taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center. The 65-year-old driver of the GMC, who is from Hamersville, was not hurt.
Where the Highway Patrol Investigation Stands
The Georgetown Post of the Highway Patrol is investigating, and the crash remains under investigation. The Brown County Sheriff's Office, Hamersville Fire & EMS, Bethel Tate Fire Department, Mount Orab EMS and Air Evac EMS personnel assisted at the scene. No charges have been announced.
Roads are often closed for hours after a serious crash so investigators can measure and photograph the scene before anything is moved.

Here is what families in Ohio usually need, in the order it comes up.
Death certificates. The funeral home or the family can order them, and banks and insurers each usually want a copy.
Crash report. The crash report is usually ready a few weeks after the crash, and you can still get it later.
Funeral costs. Every state has a victim fund that pays funeral costs after some crashes, and the fund decides who qualifies.
Survivor payments. If the person who died had worked, their spouse or children may get monthly Social Security payments. Applying early matters.
Insurance offer. You can turn down the insurer's first offer and ask for more.
