1 Killed, 2 Injured in Preble County Car Accident
The crash happened in the early evening in Lanier Township, on Fisher-Twin Road near Twin Road.
Three people were killed or hurt in a car crash on Fisher-Twin Road near Twin Road in Lanier Township, Preble County, on Nov. 3, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers.
How the Fisher-Twin Road Crash Unfolded
The patrol's Dayton Post put the time of the crash at about 6:41 p.m. Troopers said a 2003 Honda CR-V was heading west and approaching a curve near Twin Road. The patrol said the SUV left the pavement, passed through a yard and hit a tree.
The back-seat passenger has been identified as Chie Demeter, 91, of Eaton, who died at the scene. The driver, an 83-year-old man from West Alexandria, was first treated at Kettering Health Preble and later moved to Miami Valley Hospital. The front-seat passenger, an 83-year-old woman who also lives in West Alexandria, was brought to Kettering Health Preble.
What the Highway Patrol Investigation Covers
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said its early investigation produced the account of how the SUV left the road. Crews from West Alexandria Fire and EMS and Gratis EMS responded, along with Logan's Towing and the Preble County Coroner's Office. No charges have been announced, and the patrol has not released further findings.
Investigators write down the weather, lighting and road surface after every serious crash. Recording those details is routine and does not point to any single cause.
