The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said a 2001 Ford F-150 pickup and a 2018 Hyundai Sonata hit each other head-on. The passenger in the Hyundai, Brenda S. Young, 73, of Nauvoo, died after she was brought to Baptist Health Walker Hospital. The Hyundai's driver, Tony W. Young, 54, of Nauvoo, was hurt and taken to UAB Hospital. The pickup's driver, a 17-year-old from Jasper, was also hurt and received care at a local hospital.
What the Highway Patrol Division Is Reviewing
The agency's Highway Patrol Division is investigating the crash. No charges have been announced. Officials have not said when the investigation might conclude.
Many newer cars keep a short record of the moments around a crash. Investigators may download that data, and making sense of it can take weeks.

Lost someone in a crash like this?
Here is what families in Alabama usually need, in the order it comes up.
Death certificates. The funeral home or the family can order them, and banks and insurers each usually want a copy.
Crash report. The crash report is usually ready a few weeks after the crash, and you can still get it later.
Funeral costs. Every state has a victim fund that pays funeral costs after some crashes, and the fund decides who qualifies.
Survivor payments. If the person who died had worked, their spouse or children may get monthly Social Security payments. Applying early matters.
Insurance offer. You can turn down the insurer's first offer and ask for more.
